The Connection

An Audible Groan Came from RiOT, as they reclined on the office chair.

It had been a good 2 Weeks since The Hack, and since then, The Police Department quickly made many changes, and even had put Robotic Units like RiOT out of duty as the higher ups tried to figure out certain logistical nightmares that come with not having direct control over them, among other issues.

RiOT had been filling their time by Figuring out what the connection information really was for. Why were these logs like this? it didn’t make sense. Why would this information be printed here instead of some actual Errors and details on why that Chimera Eclipse Unit suddenly had a Bad Update?

The Door Opened, and a Familiar Chimera Hue Walked in.

“Hey RiOT, how’s cracking that SSH Mystery going?”

“Not Good, I’ve been stuck trying the password over and over again, with no luck. I’m starting to think that this is all one big honeypot, and that I should just give up.”

Hue Seemed to think for a second. “Hey, maybe try giving it a username. maybe something about the ID-Tag?”

RiOT Contemplated trying this. They’ve already have been trying for days on end to figure this out, but had no leads on this. “Fine, But if this doesn’t work I’m passing this to Akechi, and then see if they can uncover anything.”

RiOT Sighed. “Nope, Didn’t Work. Any other things you want me to try before I send this to Akechi?”

Hue looked kinda frustrated. “RiOT, did you even try to increment and modify the username? maybe it isn’t as straight forward as just username at modelname, you know?”

“Fine, I’ll give it a few more goes.”

Suddenly the Terminal Window blanked out for RiOT, before giving a more graphical screen.

Suddenly on the Desk, The Terminal appeared for Hue, and They looked conflicted. “Hmmm, Maybe this is a virus, maybe this is something else, I mean maybe this some Unit Management System or something. Honestly, I kinda want to see what will happen.” Hue Glanced at RiOT. “I mean, if something bad happens we always have backups, right?”

RiOT Sighed, made a virtual keyboard appear, and started going through the setup wizard.

RiOT turned the flashlight off and quickly grabbed something from their pouch. “And this is why I carry a flashlight with me instead of using that thing.” RiOT turned on and off the flashlight. “This one actually works. Anyways,”

After Acknowledging the message, the SSH Session closed, giving a Random Error. When trying to log back in, RiOT couldn’t.

The Only Thing left to do now for RiOT was to restart.

“Alright. I’ll be Right back. Don’t Move me, OK?” RiOT requested.

“RiOT, RiOT? Oh come on, how long is this going to take?” Hue Said in Desperation.

It had been 4 Minutes, 2 Minutes Longer then normal for RiOT to Start Up.

“Hello? RiOT? Come On, Surely you’ve Bo-“ “Boo.” RiOT said with a Fantic but Lighthearted tone. “Agh! RiOT! Don’t Scare Me like that! Anyways, anything new?”

RiOT went to open their Programs menu, and as expected, GX ClientLink was now installed on their system, and opening it showed a file system of sorts, and a sync option.

“Welp, There’s a new File Explorer I have access to, and it ain’t from the PD.”
